Saxophonist, Solomon Alber, leads groove-driven jazz performances that blend improvisation with danceable rhythms from Cuba, Africa and South America. Alber is inspired by musical traditions from around the world. His music modulates between smooth, lyrical ballads and bold, dynamic grooves while his silky and velvety saxophone playing exudes elegance and a modern brilliance.

In 2021, Alber released his debut single, Salmon Alaska, a collaboration with musicians and recording engineers at the Berklee College of Music. Two years later, he followed with his first EP titled, Boom Leap Boom, featuring five original compositions that highlight his unique voice as a composer and improviser.

Alber draws influence from jazz giants like Miles Davis, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Cannonball Adderley and Stan Getz. He infuses his music with an appreciation for a diverse sonic soundscape and moves forward with his finger firmly on the pulse of the sounds that are carrying jazz into the next generation.

As a bandleader, Alber performs together with Salon De La Mon, an ensemble known for its energetic, danceable shows. The band reimagines well-known jazz and Broadway standards with danceable rhythms from Cuba, Spain and South America. Their distinctive instrumentation reinvents the modern saxophone-led trio featuring drums, percussion, the Cuban Tres, upright bass and nylon string guitar.
